On Saturday 15 June 2013 a special edition of The Search Project (2010) will be presented in Kaaitheater with an extra large cast of 45 people, including many personnel of the Kaaitheater. I am directing the piece with Tristero, a theater collective based in Brussels. The piece is entirely based on classifieds. Everybody is looking for something…
The right shoes
I’m looking for Korean students and other students around the world who want to learn english via Skype. IELTS,TOEIC, TOEFL, basic english or whatever you want to know about english. English is fun. Mae.
Can you help me? I’m looking for a movie where scorpions are killing a lady, but that’s all I remember. Anyone?
Although wishes and desires are sometimes difficult to express in words, everyone still translates them into an actual quest. This quest can last a lifetime (in search of happiness) or a few hours (searching for the right shoes). In this performance – based on found ‘classified ads’ – Tristero attempts to bring this universal quest to light. Man is truly searching for all sorts of things: friendship and sex, but also work, collectables, missing animals and so on. A wanted ads page is therefore also an ‘open forum’ in which everyone wants to change their life and have their say.
cast Simon André, Tierno Barry, Lara Barsacq, Annelore Crollet, Youri Dirkx, Lorenza Goos, Pierre Sartenaer, Nele Van den Broeck, Iris Bouché, Hilde Wils, personnel of Kaaitheater and a tango orchestra.
